The Cat’s Meow: Scrapbooking the Pets Who Become Family
Anyone who has ever loved a pet knows they become part of the family whether you planned on it or not.
Julius arrived in our lives in 2013 (along with his brother Romeo) and quickly decided he was in charge of everything. He supervised my scrapbooking projects, claimed any warm spot I happened to be sitting in, and somehow managed to become my furry best friend. Like most cats, he was equal parts sweet, stubborn, affectionate, and completely convinced the world revolved around him… but in the best possible way.
When I started creating this cat scrapbook layout, which was originally designed by my friend Melanie, I knew I wanted to gather some of my favorite photos of Juju in one place. From his tiny kitten days to his role as my constant crafting companion, every photo brought back memories that made me smile.
One of the things I love most about scrapbooking pet photos is that it gives us a chance to tell the stories behind the pictures. Years from now, I won’t just remember what Julius looked like. I’ll remember how he followed me into my craft room, stretched across whatever project I was working on, and somehow became part of the creative process whether I invited him or not.
This layout is called The Cat’s Meow, and honestly, it couldn’t be more fitting. Julius knew he was special… and boy was he ever.
