Cookies with Mimi | Scrapbooking the Everyday Moments We Treasure
Some of the sweetest family traditions don’t involve fancy vacations or holiday celebrations. They’re found in the ordinary moments that happen over and over again. A favorite snack after nap time. Little hands reaching into the cookie jar. Sitting around the table together with nowhere else to be.
As I was getting ready to fly to Florida to visit my daughter Stephanie after she moved there earlier this year, I found myself thinking about the little routines that fill my days at home. I babysit my grand-littles six days a week while their parents are at work, so spending time together isn’t something we have to schedule. It’s simply part of our everyday life.
So before I headed out on my trip, I picked up a package of chocolate chip cookies for our afternoon snack and snapped a few photos while we enjoyed them together. They happily munched away, smiled for the camera, and reminded me that some of our best moments happen when we’re doing absolutely nothing special… just enjoying some store bought chocolate chip cookies together.
